Johanna Konta reached the third round of the women's singles at the Olympics, but fellow Britons Heather Watson and Kyle Edmund were eliminated in Rio.
World number 13 Konta beat France's Caroline Garcia 6-2 6-3.
Watson, ranked 66th, fought back against world number 20 Elina Svitolina of Ukraine, before losing 6-3 1-6 6-3.
Watson later lost again as the two Britons were beaten 3-6 6-0 6-4 by third seeds Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan of Chinese Taipei in the doubles.
"I'm grateful to be here and I get to say I'm an Olympian," said Konta, 25. "I'm here to compete and I'm really enjoying being part of the whole thing."
Konta will play Russian eighth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova in the last 16.
Disappointment for Edmund
Britain's Kyle Edmund went out of the men's singles with a 6-4 7-5 defeat by Japan's Taro Daniel, ranked 117 in the world.
Daniel trailed 3-0 in the first set and 5-2 in the second but recovered to progress to a third-round encounter with Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro.
"I know what I could have done better," Edmund said. "I just wasn't able to quite do it on the court and problem-solve during the match."

Just a day after knocking out world number one Novak Djokovic, Del Potro reached round three courtesy of a 6-3 1-6 6-3 win over Portugal's Joao Sousa.
Play was briefly halted after a scuffle between two fans in the stands, which left both players shaking their heads in frustration.
"This is not football," Del Potro said.
World number nine Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, however, is out, the Frenchman losing 6-3 6-4 to Luxembourg's world number 37 Gilles Muller.
Reigning women's singles champion Serena Williams progressed with a 7-6 6-2 victory over France's Alize Cornet.
