One of those on the boat for Team GB is Sir Andy Murray.

Speaking to BBC One earlier, Murray said: "I'm loving it. I've always enjoyed coming along to the opening ceremonies just being around all the other athletes.

"It's brilliant. With this being my last tournament, I want to make the most of it. I wouldn't miss tonight."

Thanks for clearing that up Eleanor.

Really let myself down with the "we've just seen a pianist" line.

He's playing Jeux d'eau by Maurice Ravel.

Jeux d'eau which means playing of the water is very suitable for today.

    There are puddles!

The rain is really coming down now.

We've just seen a pianist at the side of the River Seine and the rain is bouncing off the top.

True professionalism, though, as he continues without skipping a beat.

We're in section five of 11 - fraternity.

That pesky masked individual is back again with the torch and inside the Louvre now.

    Access all areas it seems.

I have to say I am enjoying there being three or four countries on a boat.

I know there's a distance between each country on the boat but you'd imagine once they've gone through and done their bit of waving that they'll all talk to each other.

It’s starting to look a little choppy on the Seine, some of the boats are really rocking around.

Hope no one is sea sick…

    Here come Fiji.

We've already seen some of their athletes feature in the men's rugby sevens over the last couple of days (day -2 and day -1).

Fiji have won gold medals at the last two Games in rugby sevens and they are through to the semi-finals in Paris.

  15. 'All-action from the off'published at 19:38 British Summer Time 26 July

    Opening ceremony

    Wow, wow, wow.

It’s all going off. I recall previous opening ceremonies taking place at a slightly slower pace but this has felt all-action from the off, with the parading of the athletes mixed with entertainment - and what a line up we have been treated to so far.

Aya Nakamura really got the crowd excited, with so many people racing towards the river to try and get a closer look at the French singer from across the water.

Her performance lit things up - literally.

  16. Refugee team gets biggest cheer so farpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 26 July

    James FitzGerald
BBC News reporter at the Trocadéro

It's been a fairly restrained atmosphere up to this point at the Trocadéro, where the ceremony is set to conclude - and where world leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron are watching from the stands.

Before Lady Gaga got a few dancers on their feet in their stands, the biggest cheer of the evening so far went up for the refugee team - making just its third appearance at the Games.

My biggest issue with all these boats is we don't get a chance to really see the outfits.

We usually get a really good view of them walking through a stadium but it's a lot tougher to get a glance on the boat.

A lot of the athletes are also wearing ponchos over the top with the rain still coming down.

I'm not sure how impressed the design team will be with that.

  18. Singalong at the Trocadéro for Nakamurapublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 26 July

    James FitzGerald
BBC News reporter at the Trocadéro

Another cheer went up among the crowds here for Aya Namakura - the world's most-streamed French-language artist.

We knew it was possible she'd perform. The speculation had prompted something of a backlash from the French far-right, which suggested her music owed more to the US and Africa than to France.

That prompted her to hit back at one group, saying: "What do I owe you? Nothing."

Just two athletes are representing the Cook Islands so it was an easy choice for who would be the flagbearers.

800m runner Alex Beddoes and swimmer Lanihei Connolly.

They've got loads of space at the front of that boat!

  20. Trocadéro salutes French revolutionary messagepublished at 19:29 British Summer Time 26 July

    James FitzGerald
BBC News reporter at the Trocadéro

That little burst of song Les Misérables got the audience in the stands here going - so too the message of "liberté" that flashed up on the screen atop a film of actors depicting battles from the French Revolution. 1789 lives long in the memory, it seems.

It's followed by a snatch of the opera Carmen, by Georges Bizet. Slightly harder to sing along to, that one.
