Aussie half-back Seymour joins Hull on three-year deal

Hull FC have signed Aussie half-back Brett Seymour from New Zealand Warriors for the 2012 season.

Seymour, 26, is in the second year of a deal with NRL side Warriors.

But, after signing a three-year contract with the Black and Whites, he admitted: "I didn't want to come to England when I was past my use-by date.

"I've had 10 years in the NRL, I'm well seasoned, the body feels great and I really want to make a go of it in Super League," he told the club website.

"I have had some great feedback about the club, the players and the coaches and where they want to be heading and people can't speak more highly of the place."

Seymour, who started his career with Brisbane Broncos alongside Aussie legend Darren Lockyer, moved on to Cronulla Sharks in 2007.

He then moved on to the Warriors for the 2010 season following the premature end to his time with Cronulla, where he had his contract terminated due to off-field incidents.

"He's a good age, a good footballer and he's in a position where there are few quality half-backs on the market," coach Richard Agar told BBC Radio Humberside.

Hull, who face a decision over injury-ravaged Sean Long's future, have already signed Leigh scrum-half Jamie Ellis for next season.

And they have also already completed the signing of another New Zealand Warriors player, hooker Aaron Heremaia, on a two-year deal.
