Bradford Bulls winger Shaun Ainscough has been ruled out until August after undergoing ankle surgery.

The 21-year-old former Wigan player picked up the injury in the Bulls' 58-14 defeat by Warrington on 1 May, external.

Bradford football manager Stuart Duffy said: "Shaun saw a specialist in early May and his advice was to manage it conservatively through rehab.

"The injury did not respond sufficiently and Shaun has now had an operation to stabilise his ankle."

Ainscough, who joined Bradford in August 2010, appeared in eight of Bradford's 10 opening Super League fixtures.
