Castleford prop Jonathan Walker has signed a new two-year contract to tie him to the club until 2014.

The 21-year-old, who has now recovered from a knee injury suffered last season, had attracted interest from a number of other Super League clubs.

"It's hard to find English front rowers with good size and the presence Johnny has," said Tigers coach Ian Millward.

"He has all the attributes to become a top quality Super League player and a future international."
