Salford City Reds prop Shannan McPherson out for season

Salford City Reds prop Shannan McPherson has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The 26-year-old was carried off on a stretcher in Friday's 32-10 loss to St Helens at the Salford City Stadium.

Head physio Matt Jenkinson told the club website: "Shannan has a significant tear but no surgery is required which is good news."

McPherson has made 13 appearances this year since joining on a three-year deal from South Sydney.
