Sheffield Eagles became the first Championship side into the Challenge Cup quarter-finals after dumping out divisional rivals Halifax.

Two tries from Quentin Laulu-Togagae, added to scores from Tom Armstrong, Scott Turner and Menzie Yere saw Mark Aston's side through.

Half-back Dominic Brambani landed four of the five conversions.

League leaders Halifax responded through Rob Worrincy and Callum Casey tries plus two Steve Tyrer goals.

The result means Sheffield progress to the last eight for the first time since the club reformed in 1999.
