Dean Collis has agreed a new contract with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, extending the Australian centre's current deal until the end of 2016.

Collis, 27, who began his career with Wests Tigers, joined Wakefield from Cronulla in 2011.

"I've really enjoyed my time at Wakefield for the last two years so I wanted to get my future properly sorted out," he told BBC Radio Leeds.

"There's a really good culture at the club and I want to stay part of it."

Collis said Super League's open style suited his play. "Back home in the NRL it's very defence-oriented, but coming here I've started to enjoy my rugby again and that's a big factor.

"This year I've been injury-free and my form's been pretty decent, and as a club we've taken a step in the right direction in recent weeks."
