Dorn relishing Broncos semi-final

London Broncos outside back Luke Dorn says the side will have to believe in their own ability to reach the Challenge Cup final.

The Broncos, who are bottom of Super League, face Wigan on Saturday.

He told BBC London: "Wigan will be a phenomenal challenge. Their ability and teamwork has been fantastic and they are a great side.

"We will have to be extra special to get a result. But if you don't believe, you are never going to achieve."

The Broncos have won just three of their 22 matches in Super League this season but have reached the semi-finals in the Challenge Cup following victories over Featherstone Rovers,Bradford Bulls and Sheffield Eagles.

Dorn says there is a buzz around the squad ahead of this weekend's match in Leigh and admits that the competition provides a welcome distraction for the side.

"We're 80 minutes away from playing at Wembley so there is expectation, excitement and anticipation," the 31-year-old Australian said.

"It feels a lot different, especially where we are in the league at the moment.

"We have got 80 minutes of football left in us in this environment and if we can get through it, against quality opposition, that's the stuff dreams are made of.

"It is good to put the league behind us. We have had a good run in this competition and just want to keep it going."

The Broncos currently face an uncertain future, with the club still searching for a new home for next season and their place in the top division not guaranteed with a restructuring of the sport on the horizon in 2015.

Dorn believes that reaching the Challenge Cup final for only the second time in their history would be a welcome boost and would raise the profile of the game, and the sport, in the capital and the south of England.

"I want the club and the sport to grow in London," he said.

"I want it to be big. It could be enormous and put London rugby league on the map.

"Perhaps it is something people will be thinking about externally but for us we just have a performance and win the game.

"If it grows the game, which a win would do, then that would be fantastic.

"We have had some messages from previous players and we are grateful for those. We want to make our own story and have people talking about us."
