The hosts were ahead in the first minute when Ben Jones-Bishop crossed, with Scott Taylor and Iain Thornley making it 16-0 at the break.
After Rangi Chase scored, Leigh rallied through Adam Higson and Gregg McNally, but the comeback was short-lived.
Junior Sa'u, a second from Chase, Niall Evalds and Greg Johnson saw the Red Devils score eight tries in all.
The Centurions, who beat Salford 22-18 in the Challenge Cup fifth round in April, scored a consolation late on when McNally touched down for his second.
Salford join Widnes and Hull KR in winning their opening two games in The Qualifiers.
