Dominic Brambani's first-half drop-goal proved crucial as Batley Bulldogs edged past Featherstone Rovers.

The two Championship sides went into the game winless in the Qualifiers, and Wayne Reittie went over to give Batley an early lead.

Luke Briscoe and James Duckworth tries put Featherstone 10-4 up, before Brambani reduced the deficit to five.

Patrick Walker's penalty further closed the gap after half-time, before Reittie's second try won it.
