Huddersfield Giants' miserable Super League campaign continued with a home defeat by Salford Red Devils.

Mark Flanagan exploited a gap in the defence to put Salford ahead and Ben Nakubuwai added a second try.

Innes Senior got the hosts on the board before half-time, before Weller Hauraki stretched the lead after the break.

Oliver Roberts' try for Salford made it 20-12, but Giants' Danny Brough was sent off for dissent late on and Jake Bibby sealed victory with two tries.

Brough's red card four minutes from full-time came after Huddersfield had been frustrated for most of the second half with the deficit at eight points.

The Giants have now lost eight of their 11 league matches and remain one place above bottom side Catalans Dragons, while Salford are up to eighth.

Huddersfield's campaign does not get any easier, with a visit to leaders St Helens next on the agenda on Friday.

Salford host Wakefield Trinity in their next fixture.
