Castleford moved up to fourth in the Super League table as their attacking flair proved too much for Hull KR.
The Tigers dominated the first half, running in five tries through Kieran Gill, Greg Eden, Alex Foster, Matt Cook and Michael Shenton to lead 28-4.
Rovers continued to be picked apart after the break, with Gill getting his second and Jy Hitchcox crossing twice.
Chris Clarkson and Ryan Shaw scored consolations as Castleford won the inaugural Roger Millward Trophy game.
Former Great Britain international Millward was a prominent figure for both sides, beginning his career at hometown club Cas before heading to East Yorkshire to join Rovers.
While at Craven Park he captain-coached the Robins to arguably their proudest achievement, beating city rivals Hull 10-5 at Wembley in the 1980 Challenge Cup final, and the decision for the two sides to play for a trophy was taken after his death, aged 68, in May 2016.
The pick of the scores was the fifth as Shenton finished off a move which had started in the Castleford half and included some smart off-loads and a break by Foster.
The loss was Hull KR's 12th in 16 matches this season, as they continue to struggle just one place above bottom side Widnes.
