Kieran Dixon scored 10 points to steer his side to victory

Reigning Super League champions Wigan remain without a point after a shock defeat by London Broncos.

Warriors started the day without a point, as a result of their pre-season points deduction, for which their appeal is due to be heard next week.

The visitors looked like making it two wins from four as they led 10-0 through tries from Liam Paisley and Willie Isa.

But Eddie Battye and Matty Gee helped level the scores before Kieran Dixon's converted try took Broncos to victory.

Having slotted the extras to Gee's score for a two-point interval lead, Dixon ran almost the length of the pitch to put the hosts ahead at 16-10.

His third kick ensured victory, despite Tony Clubb's try causing some late panic.

Victory means newly promoted London are ninth in the table with two wins from five.

London Broncos head coach Danny Ward:

"Beating the champions at home is pretty special and it was a great performance from the boys - and one they've really enjoyed. But I'm not going to get too carried away.

"We've had some big ones over the past 12 months but it's definitely something to build on and get confidence from because we've had a tough few weeks.

"It's hard going from the Championship, where you're winning 80 to 90 per cent of your games, to losing two or three on the bounce.

"It's been a big challenge for the boys. When you do get the win and you play well, you enjoy it."

Wigan head coach Adrian Lam:

"I understand all about the pressure we're under. All I ask is that people be patient through this period.

"There are a lot of different players in this group from last year's Grand Final side. Once we can get through this part in good shape, we'll be OK.

"We talked about London and making sure we gave them respect. We started probably the best since the start of the year. We got that right, got off to a flyer - but then the whole last 15 minutes of the half, we collapsed.

"We had enough ball to be up by 30 points but we didn't execute in that first half. That's where the game was won and lost."
