Super League: Huddersfield Giants 8-28 Hull FC

Joe Westerman scored a try in each half for the visitors

Huddersfield Giants slipped to a fourth consecutive Super League defeat as Joe Westerman and Josh Griffin both scored two tries to help Hull FC fight back for a resounding victory.

Westerman scored the first try, kicking on after a fumble, but Giants led 8-6 at the break with Darnell McIntosh's try and two Oliver Russell kicks.

The second Westerman score restored the Hull lead and they then took control.

Ratu Naulago went over in the corner, and Josh Griffin wrapped up victory.

Westerman's second try was the catalyst for a dominant second-half display by the visitors, the Hull man showing quick feet to skip through and evade a couple of challenges to touch down.

Naulago soon added another try, crossing in the corner for his third in two games.

With Giants under increasing pressure on a greasy, difficult surface, Scott Grix got in a mess under a towering high ball from Marc Sneyd and Griffin collected the loose ball to go over.

Griffin then added the fifth away score, touching down after collecting a cute Sneyd reverse kick.

Huddersfield head coach Simon Woolford:

"The issues we have got at the moment aren't a talent thing. They are an effort and concentration thing. They are going to be hard to fix.

"We have stages where we totally lose our way, make an error, make another one, concede a try and then it's like the game is gone.

"We don't have any resilience. Zero. None at all. Rugby League is a tough game and you are going to be under the pump at certain stages every week no matter who you are playing."

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford:

"I'm really pleased with how we adjusted after half-time.

"We had to make a couple of adaptions to how we were playing. We came out in a different gear and had to change our mindset.

"We tried pushing the ball to an edge too much. We trained all week to play like that but we didn't see today's weather coming. We've trained in the glorious sun all week at a lovely County Road.

"We wanted to play a little bit more direct and straighten up."
