Adam Walker scored twice as Salford ran in five tries to beat Leeds.
Scores from Lee Mossop and Walker, off the bench, earned the Red Devils a 12-0 lead before Mikolaj Oledzki pulled one back before the break.
But Walker, Joey Lussick and Robbie Lui added three more tries after the break.
And, although Harry Newman and Ash Handley replied with two more for the Rhinos, the 2017 Super League champions still succumbed to a 10th defeat in 14 games this season.
Lui, along with half-back partner and compatriot Jackson Hastings, was in superb form, scoring a try and having a hand in several others to help Salford beat Leeds for only the fourth time in the Super League era and move up to sixth in the table.
Leeds remain 10th, two points off the bottom, trailing Huddersfield by two points and four behind reigning champions Wigan.
Salford coach Ian Watson:
"Robbie Lui is a great player and a great family bloke who is proud to play for Salford. We don't want to lose any of the players we have got now. We have done well to attract those guys here in the first place, but we know some of the bigger clubs will be looking to cherry-pick our players.
"Rugby is a short career and players have big decisions to make. This team could be a top team for a few years because it's a young team and we'd love to keep Lui and everyone else.
"I am really proud of the way we responded after losing to Leeds heavily earlier in the season. That was probably the only game this season where I felt we really let ourselves down.
"Our forwards were outstanding against a challenging Leeds pack - many of whom have played in the NRL. Our guys went about their job really well."
Leeds coach David Furner:
"Salford didn't allow us to play the game we wanted to play. They are probably the in-form team in Super League and, although there was something of a revival at the end, it just wasn't good enough.
"We got back to 12-6 and had a good talk about what we needed to do in the second half but I don't think we had two sets in their 20 in the second half.
"We couldn't get any ruck speed. The players have got to learn that it's not good enough. They didn't allow themselves to get into an arm wrestle.
"Salford have beaten some really good teams and I knew it was going to be a real tough game. There were some positives there but we need a win."
