Catalans Dragons picked up their fourth victory in five Super League games by beating a spirited Wakefield Trinity.
The Dragons hit Trinity on their left edge for four first-half tries, two from Tom Davies - with Mike McMeeken and Dean Whare also scoring.
Trinity had scored through Olly Ashall-Bott and Max Jowitt in the first half, and Reece Lyne further reduced the gap.
However Whare got his second, Davies a hat-trick and Samisoni Langi crossed to leave Wakefield waiting for a win.
Wakefield coach Chris Chester has seen his side be competitive in all six of their defeats in all competitions this season, but they have been overcome late on, or in the second half, to finish up empty-handed.
For a good hour here they were in touching distance of the visitors, but were opened up far too easily on their own left-side defence to undermine some of their excellent attacking touches going forward.
Ashall-Bott had a promising debut, Joe Westerman was influential while Mason Lino and Jowitt settled well despite their inexperience as a halves partnership.
However, Catalans had so much playmaking quality in James Maloney, Sam Tomkins and Josh Drinkwater, and their razor-sharp accuracy really brought the dangerous three-quarter line into play.
Whare and Davies in particular were beneficiaries, with the latter showing spectacular agility to finish off in the corner, and their supremacy was telling late on as the score blew out.
It was the perfect response to losing their unbeaten record at home to Warrington last weekend.
Wakefield head coach Chris Chester:
"It's another disappointing loss for us, another game where we had a hell of a lot of effort, just a lack of quality. It's really tough going at the minute. The energy levels were great again, I'll never question their effort.
"But we had five or six sets on their line in the first half but we couldn't get a drop-out and that led to pressure releases. It's individuals who keep hurting us, we've just got to make sure those individuals don't keep making the same mistakes.
"I don't think there was anything between the two sides. We're in a tough spell at moment and things don't quite go your way but we're confident things will turn around. At 20-18, I thought we had them. I thought the Liam Kay disallowed try was really tough. That was a bad decision."
Catalans Dragons head coach Steve McNamara:
"It was a really tough game and we knew it would be. The last time we played Wakefield in the cup it was similar, it was a really hard performance.
"They are a really tough team to play against. I wouldn't say I was ever worried but we were under pressure.
"It was a long period in that second half before we pulled away."
