Jack Broadbent ran in four tries for Leeds Rhinos as they overwhelmed Super League strugglers Leigh Centurions.

Matty Russell had given Leigh the lead but Leeds hit back through James Donaldson, Jack Broadbent's double, Kruise Leeming and Liam Sutcliffe.

Mark Ioane touched down soon after the break for Leigh but Broadbent went in at the corner for his third.

Sam Walters came off the bench to score Leeds' seventh before Broadbent's fourth and Tom Holroyd's score.

The win means Leeds are seventh in Super League, as they picked up a fifth win of the campaign while Leigh's torrid run continues with the Centurions still without a win.

The struggling Centurions enjoyed a dream start as Russell touched down with an acrobatic finish in the corner, but they were reduced to 12 players soon after when James Bell went to the bin for a dangerous challenge on Tom Holroyd.

Leeds made their player advantage count with a flurry of tries as they went in with a 24-6 lead at the break.

The Rhinos came into the game without Richie Myler, Konrad Hurrell, Ash Handley, Zane Tetevano, Alex Sutcliffe, Jack Walker and Harry Newman due to injury, while Luke Gale, Bodene Thompson and Alex Mellor missed out through suspension following their ill-tempered win at Salford.

Liam Sutcliffe returned from Covid protocol, however, to cap off an impressive first half for the depleted hosts.

Leigh themselves named just a 20-man squad ahead of the fixture and were dismantled in the second half as Leeds, buoyed by Broadbent, ran riot.

Leeds: Sutcliffe, L Briscoe, Martin, T Briscoe, Broadbent, Lui, Leeming, Oledzki, Dwyer, Holroyd, Donaldson, Gannon, Prior.

Interchanges: O'Connor, Vuniyayawa, Walters, Tindall.

Leigh: Mullen, Russell, Thornley, Sa'u, Brand, Brierley, Mellor, Peteru, Hood, Thompson, Gee, Hellewell, Bell.

Interchanges: Ioane, Wildie, Gerrard, Peats.
