Catalans Dragons bolstered their lead at the top of Super League as they came from behind to beat Leeds Rhinos for the second time in seven days.

After Arthur Mourgue's early penalty had put Catalans in front, Tom Briscoe crossed twice for Leeds before Kruise Leeming added to their half-time lead.

However, Catalans struck back after the break, with Sam Kasiano, Mourgue and Matt Whitley all touching down.

Tom Davies' try and Sam Tomkins' drop-goal sealed the win for the hosts.

Victory for the Dragons ensures they stay at the top of Super League, whereas Leeds stay seventh after their second straight defeat.

Leeds welcomed back Harry Newman following a 10-month absence due to a double leg fracture and started well against the leaders.

Much like the first fixture between these two teams seven days ago, Leeds eased into a sizable 16-point advantage at the break courtesy of Briscoe's brace.

But Catalans stormed back early on in the second half, scoring three tries in eight minutes, with Davies' additional score powering them into a 24-18 lead.

Fouad Yaha had looked to have extended that advantage in the game's final quarter, but replays showed the ball was successfully held up by Luke Briscoe.

But Tomkins' drop-goal and Mourgue's fine kicking steered the hosts to victory as they scored 25 unanswered points in a sensational second-half spell.

Catalans Dragons boss Steve McNamara:

"Arthur [Mourgue] creates some great moments for television, he's that type of player.

"There were parts of his game that were a bit off the mark tonight but it's his first time starting at number six and it will take a bit of time.

"He's been awesome for us, Arthur. We've played him in all the different positions and I'm glad he's on our team."

Leeds Rhinos head coach Richard Agar:

"We had a terrible start to that second half. We had a complete loss of discipline and composure.

"Once we lost our momentum we couldn't get it back. When you're at 50 per cent ball completion and conceding back-to-back tries it's going to be difficult.

"But I thought we had a lot of players trying very hard tonight but in certain areas there were some really poor performances.

"There were some particular individual efforts that are way short of what we require with this team."
