Waqa Blake: St Helens sign Fijian centre on one-year deal

Waqa Blake made 77 NRL appearances for Parramatta Eels and played 88 times for Penrith Panthers earlier in his career

St Helens have signed Fiji international centre Waqa Blake on a one-year deal for the upcoming 2024 Super League campaign.

The 29-year-old joins Paul Wellens' side having been released by NRL side Parramatta Eels at the end of 2023.

Blake scored 62 tries in 165 NRL appearances across spells with Penrith and the Eels.

"We are so pleased to bring in a player of Waqa's quality," head coach Paul Wellens told the club website., external

"He is making a big commitment in coming over to the other side of the world and we're confident he will settle in well and like it over here.

"From our end he's going to come highly motivated and come to prove a point - which will only help him and his performances, as well as our group."
