Jake Wardle topped his fine debut campaign for Wigan by scoring against Penrith in the World Club Challenge
Centre Jake Wardle has signed a new five-year deal with Wigan Warriors.
The England international has committed to the club until 2029 after making a big impact since joining last year.
Wardle scored 16 tries in 31 appearances for the champions in his debut season and also crossed for a try in the World Club Challenge win over Penrith Panthers last month.
Wigan chief executive Kris Radlinski said: "Jake is one of the elite centres in the UK Super League."
He added: "From the moment that he put a Wigan jersey on, his levels of performance have been outstanding. Whilst we always knew Jake had the talent, he appears to have found a spiritual home at Wigan."
Wardle signed from Huddersfield Giants in 2023 after scoring 22 tries in 64 games for the Yorkshire club, with a further six in 11 on loan at Warrington Wolves.
He was named in the Super League Dream Team for his displays in his debut season at Wigan.
Wardle said: "Since I signed I've made everyone aware that I really enjoy it here. It definitely feels like home and I can't wait to see what happens in the next five years."
"The 18 months I've been here so far have been enjoyable and I'm looking forward to more enjoyable moments."
