Frankie Halton has extended his Leigh Leopards contract until the end of the 2027 Super League season.
The Leigh-born Ireland international made himself a regular in Adrian Lam's team last season after his inaugural campaign back at his original club.
Second rower Halton started out at the Leopards before playing for Swinton Lions, Featherstone Rovers and Hull Kingston Rovers before returning in 2023.
Leigh head of rugby Chris Chester told the club website, external: “After a very frustrating 2023 season disrupted by injury, Frankie showed exactly why we brought him back to the club when he was able to play consistently last year.
“It’s important for the people of this town to have local talent in the team, and they certainly have that in Frankie.”
