Warrington Wolves half-back Marc Sneyd says his new side have the ability to go on to win an elusive first Super League title.

The 34-year-old joined the Wire from Salford earlier this month after the Red Devils had been plagued by off-field issues in the lead-up to - and aftermath of - a takeover earlier in the 2025 campaign.

Since the formation of Super League in 1996, Warrington have never won the title, but have finished as Grand Final runners-up on four occasions - most recently in 2018 - while their last top-flight Premiership crown came in 1986.

Asked if Warrington could win the title either this year or next, Sneyd said: "I don't see why not. The league this year could be potentially one of the best it's been.

"For the most, anybody can beat anybody on their day. I feel like whichever team is the most consistent this year and turns up on the day the most will probably end up winning it but I don't think it'll be as black and white as it usually is."

Sneyd's former club Salford were put under a sustainability cap amid financial troubles both leading up to the new season and afterwards.

That led to them being unable to field a side of regular first-team players for their chastening season-opening 82-0 thrashing by St Helens.

"I do everything myself, I don't have an agent - it can be fairly awkward but everybody at Salford I've got a lot of respect for," added Sneyd, who left the club four games into the season.

"I was really open with everything. Nothing was done behind anybody's back. I spoke up to Rowls [head coach Paul Rowley], [chief executive] Chris Irwin and the lads on a daily basis about it.

"It was one of those and the situation was what it was. It was a tough situation and I had a decision to make and I made it."
