In terms of bridging the gap, it is such a simple thing.
For me, participation in football in this country is a vacuum for our young athletic talent.
Broadcast rights, commercial revenue, large sponsorships, overseas ownership and a lot of that money goes flooding into football and rightly so because it is interesting and so many people are interested.
The unintended consequence is that many other sports fall behind. There are not as many junior players playing a number of sports in this country.
We face a challenge now for the minds and hearts of young people in the light of technology and in light of almost being bred in captivity, to get those people out to play sport and also to play a sport which isn't as glamorous as football remains a challenge.
The commercial success of football is probably the biggest obstacle for rugby league to grow.
