In the past two Tests, Australia have started slowly before going through the gears. Today, they have started like a rocket and deserve the early try - even if the refereeing was questionable.

Headingley is by far the smallest ground used in this series, but that is not stopping the atmosphere being deafening.

This is the only dedicated rugby league ground used in these Ashes, and the Leeds natives are making their voices heard loud and proud.

  20. 'Football is biggest obstacle for rugby league to grow'published at 14:30 GMT

    England v Australia (14:30 GMT)

    Jon Wilkin
Former England international on BBC Radio 5 Live

On improving the rugby league standard in England...

In terms of bridging the gap, it is such a simple thing.

For me, participation in football in this country is a vacuum for our young athletic talent.

Broadcast rights, commercial revenue, large sponsorships, overseas ownership and a lot of that money goes flooding into football and rightly so because it is interesting and so many people are interested.

The unintended consequence is that many other sports fall behind. There are not as many junior players playing a number of sports in this country.

We face a challenge now for the minds and hearts of young people in the light of technology and in light of almost being bred in captivity, to get those people out to play sport and also to play a sport which isn't as glamorous as football remains a challenge.

The commercial success of football is probably the biggest obstacle for rugby league to grow.
