Richard Hill celebrates Worcester's promotion back to the Premiership

Head coach Richard Hill has signed a two-year contract extension with Premiership side Worcester Warriors.

Hill guided Worcester back to the top flight in his first season in charge of the Warriors, after only one season in the Championship.

He told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "I initially signed a two-year contract as both parties wanted to see how it went.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my first season and what has been very clear to me is the huge potential here at Sixways."

Hill took charge at the Warriors following the resignation of Mike Ruddock , externalwhen the club was relegated at the end of the 2009/10 Premiership campaign.

Under Hill last season, Worcester were only beaten once as they secured their place in the top flight in convincing style.

Warriors managing director Charlie Little added: "When Richard came to the club he was tasked primarily with one main objective - to get us back into the Aviva Premiership.

"Not only has he delivered that but he has brought in a strong work ethic, winning culture and accountability across all departments.

"He is on his way to building what we believe will be a highly professional squad capable of achieving our aims and ambitions in the coming years."
