Michael Mayhew joins brother Richard at Newcastle Falcons

Michael Mayhew is one of three brothers playing in the Premiership, with sibling Richard also a Falcons squad member, while Nick plays for Harlequins

Newcastle have completed the signing of hooker Michael Mayhew, brother of Falcons back-row, from North Harbour on a short-term deal.

The 24-year-old, who made two appearances for Premiership rivals Wasps last season, comes in as cover for the injured Matt Thompson.

Nick Mayhew, the third of the rugby-playing brothers, is currently with Harlequins as a prop forward.

Both Mayhews are in the Falcons squad for Saturday's trip to Exeter Chiefs.
