Wales wing Tom Prydie is set to return to action following eight months out of the game with injury.

The 19-year-old became the youngest Wales international when he made his Test debut at the age of 18 years and 25 days against Italy in March 2010, external.

But in March he ruptured knee ligaments playing for the Ospreys against Glasgow, external and had reconstructive surgery.

Prydie will begin his comeback for Swansea, when they host regional rivals Aberavon at St Helen's on Saturday.

"I'm really pleased to be playing again this weekend and I'm looking forward to getting out there," Prydie said.

"It's been a long, hard few months but the physios and the conditioners have worked with me to get me back up and running and I'm really grateful to them.

"I just want to get some game time under my belt now and start to build up my match fitness, which will allow me to challenge for a place in the Ospreys team again so that I can hopefully pick up where I left off."

Prydie was an outside bet to make Wales' World Cup squad before his injury, but has competition for the wing berths from the likes of Shane Williams, Leigh Halfpenny, George North and Morgan Stoddart, although Stoddart is himself recovering from a broken leg.

But Prydie started his career at full-back, a position that Wales are currently short of cover and may see him fast-tracked back into the Test squad if he can prove himself again at regional level.
