Kingsley Lang spectacularly flies over the line to score his try

Jersey ran in six tries to bounce back from a dismal week with a comfortable 45-5 win over Wharfedale in National League One.

Michael Le Bourgeois, Glenn Bryce (2), Donovan Sanders, Guy Thompson and Kingsley Lang all touched down for the islanders.

Simon Horsfall's first-half try was the only Wharfedale score at St Peter.

Earlier in the week Jersey were docked five points for including too many foreign players in a match-day squad.

The island side were also stunned by news prop James Ellershaw had broken his arms and fractured his leg in a car crash in the UK.

Jersey head coach Ben Harvey said: "It's been a difficult week, it's been well documented, but I thought that was fantastic spirit from the boys.

"They came out on fire in the first half and put them under immense pressure.

"I was pleased, we got through our systems well and once we do that we know we're a good side.

"Defensively sometimes we're a little bit soft but when we get harder defensively as well we're going to be a real force to be reckoned with."
