Gonzalo Camacho relishing Exeter Chiefs opportunity

Exeter Chiefs winger Gonzalo Camacho is looking forward to making his debut for the club after returning from World Cup duty with Argentina.

Camacho, 27, New Zealand.

"I'm looking to do my best in the team," he told BBC South West.

"The first objective is to form part of this great team that is evolving year-by-year and match-by-match," he added.

And Camacho said he felt that the move would offer him a chance to improve his game.

"Things were evolving for me and I was looking forward to my future," he said on his decision to leave Harlequins.

"I had to keep on looking for aims and objectives and different things to develop and I think this is a good change."

Camacho's new coach, Rob Baxter, said he believed that the Argentina international will bring a fresh edge to the Exeter backs.

"He's not the biggest of guys, but we have a pretty big back line," Baxter explained.

"I think he adds a little bit of sparkiness, a little bit of sharpness and bit of pace in some situations and he's a really competitive guy.

"We haven't brought him in because he's just like someone else we've got, we've brought him in to add something slightly different and people who've watched him play will say he's got good footwork," Baxter added.

And Camacho, who will not feature in the LV Cup match at Saracens on Saturday, said he cannot wait to make his debut.

"I'm looking forward to it, I'm very enthusiastic, I want it to be now," he added.
