Henry Trinder extends his contract at Gloucester

Trinder has one try from seven appearances this season

Gloucester centre Henry Trinder has signed a two-year contract extension until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The 22-year-old made his Cherry & Whites senior debut in 2007-08 but made his breakthrough last term with 13 tries from 23 appearances.

"Signing a two-year deal was no stretch for me," he told BBC Gloucestershire.

"I'm pleased to get it out of the way now as it gives me an opportunity to concentrate on the rest of the season, and the two seasons that follow that."

Trinder featured for the England Under-20s in the 2009 Junior World Championships but suffered an injury-hampered following season at Kingsholm.

The Kingsholm academy product then went on to represent England against the Barbarians and play for the Saxons in the Churchill Cup last season.

"I've come a long way and I feel I've achieved things which I wouldn't have seen myself doing at this point in time," added Trinder.

"He [coach Bryan Redpath] wants me to push on. He's always been very supportive and has always backed me as a player and that's given me great confidence to go out and play my game within the team's structure.

"I'm concentrating on going forward. I've improved from where I was last time and hopefully I'll continue to improve."
