Coach Warren Gatland is likely to hold his next Wales training in Poland

Wales are planning to repeat their World Cup preparations by returning to Poland for a training camp ahead of this season's Six Nations championship.

Warren Gatland's side made two trips to Spala during their build-up to the World Cup, where they finished fourth.

The players appear set for a return prior to their tournament opener with Ireland in Dublin on 5 February.

"We have probably shot ourselves in the foot by doing so well at the World Cup," fly-half Rhys Priestland said.

"If it is anything like the two camps we had out there in the summer it will be very tough.

"They were hard but we have seen the benefits and rewards and we will look forward to working hard again."

The Olympic Sports Centre facility at Spala is a tough environment for the sportsmen who train there and includes the use of cryotherapy chambers.

Hooker Matthew Rees added: "It looks like we will be going back there after the rewards we gained from the last two camps and it will be good in terms of that extra bit of physical fitness ahead of a tough campaign.

"It is a lovely Christmas present! But as players we know the sort of gains we got in terms of muscle mass and if we can get that in again it can give us an extra edge."
