London Irish scrum-half Darren Allinson has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the Madejski Stadium until 2014.

Allinson, 24, joined the club from Cardiff Blues in April 2010 and has made 33 appearances for the Exiles.

He told the club's website, external: "The chance to stay here for another two seasons was something I couldn't turn down.

"I have been playing my best rugby - with the coaching staff's help I've pushed my game on to the next level."

Exiles head coach Toby Booth added: "I have been very impressed with Darren's work ethic since he joined the club.

"He has worked hard from day one and has earned the right to be a regular in the starting XV."
