Launceston are to re-sign hooker Darren Semmens from Cornish rivals Redruth, according to Reds director of rugby Dave Penberthy.

The 24-year-old played ten matches for the Reds in National Two South this season after joining them from Launceston in the summer.

His move comes after reports of unhappiness in the Redruth squad in recent weeks.

Launceston say they are still waiting for the transfer to be confirmed.

"One or two who were a little bit disgruntled with certain situations and had personal reasons," director of rugby Dave Penberthy told BBC Cornwall.

"But Jamie Semmens, Luke Collins and that are all still on Redruth's books, and hopefully will be available for selection at the weekend."
