Sale Sharks have signed Australia international Cameron Shepherd and South African-born centre Corne Uys.
Full-back Shepherd, 28, had agreed to join Northampton earlier this summer, but the Saints pulled out of the move because of fitness concerns.
"We hope to get him fully fit so he can make a big impact for this club," said new director of rugby Bryan Redpath.
Meanwhile, 30-year-old Uys has left Newcastle Falcons following their relegation from the Premiership.
"I looked at Corne when I rejoined the club," chief executive Steve Diamond told the club website., external
"We need depth among the backs to meet that challenge of the three major competitions in which we are involved, and Corne will get decent game time through the year.
Redpath added: "Corne will give us extra cover and will work with Will Addison.
"He has Premiership experience, possesses a sound skill set and is very knowledgeable. He's fitted in very well and we're looking forward to seeing him play here."
Sale begin the new season with a Premiership away fixture at Exeter on Saturday, 1 September.
