Jersey forward Fred Silcock is looking forward to returning to action after recovering from a series of injuries.

The 22-year-old has been blighted by injuries since moving from Loughborough Students in the summer, limiting him to just four Championship appearances.

He missed the start of the season after ankle surgery and then injured his knee in the British and Irish Cup loss to Leinster at the start of December.

"I'm looking to get back into it now and kick on," he told BBC Radio Jersey.

"It was hit and miss for the game against Rotherham, but I should be back for the next one against Bedford away," added the number eight, who played for Sale in the 2010 Premiership Sevens.

And Silcock hopes that the sprit generated by the win over Rotherham on Saturday will carry forward into the club's next two games.

"Any win, no matter what competition it's in, builds momentum for the team and that'll give us a good base to kick on against Bedford and Nottingham," he continued.

"They're both very hard games but we always go into them looking to pick up something, and target the games after that and try and give us some breathing space at the bottom of the table."
