Cornish Pirates: Harvey Biljon proud despite Nottingham loss

Cornish Pirates assistant coach Harvey Biljon praised his players' efforts despite their 28-26 loss at Nottingham.

It was their third game in a week after the and Wednesday's defeat at Rotherham.

"Their desire and attitude was absolutely top end," Biljon said.

"Three games in seven days took its toll, it wasn't just the last 10 minutes, it was the last 30 minutes and you could see some of the players were just out on their feet."

Phil Eggleshaw's converted try five minutes from time saw Nottingham come away with the win after the Pirates had come from 21-12 down at half time to take a second-half lead.

Rhys Crane, James Arlidge and Alex Lewington had all scored for the home side as Matt Evans and Gavin Cattle crossed for the Pirates.

But Evans went over for his second try six minutes after the restart, followed by Kieran Hallett to give the visitors a 26-21 lead before Eggleshaw's late winner.

"Munster were very physical, [we] were still aching going to Rotherham," Biljon added to BBC Radio Cornwall.

"And who goes to Rotherham and doesn't have a physical game? So they were aching after two games on the trot.

"It's not an excuse, I know they were sore today, but they went out and still performed they way they did."
