Centre Jamie Roberts has confirmed he has injured his ankle and is an injury worry ahead of Wales' Autumn Test series in November.

The British and Irish Lions centre left the Cardiff Blues to sign for French side Racing Metro 92 this summer.

Roberts, 26, damaged his ankle in Racing's 19-16 defeat of Perpignan in the Top 14 clash in Paris on Sunday.

"I have had a little knock to the ankle," said Roberts, who qualified as a doctor this year.

Asked to what extent his ankle was damaged, Roberts admitted he did not know .

"Not quite sure yet," said Roberts, who has won 53 Wales caps.

"I'm waiting on a specialist and having scans and it's all a bit of a grey area what to do about it at the moment."

British and Irish Lions series winner Roberts has played three games for Racing since making the move to France from Wales.

Roberts scored a try in the British and Irish Lions 41-16 third Test victory over Australia in Sydney to clinch a first Test series win for 16 years.

Coach Warren Gatland will be hoping Roberts is fit for Wales' Autumn Test series which they open against South Africa on 9 November.
