Plymouth Albion: James Shanahan demands home improvement

Plymouth Albion head coach James Shanahan says their poor home form in the Championship is letting them down.

Albion welcome Bedford to the Brickfields, having failed to register a home win in the league this season.

"If you don't win your home games you make life hard for yourself," Shanahan told BBC Radio Devon.

"The supporters are happy they're seeing some good rugby but I'm sure they want to see a win, I want to see a win and of course the players do."

Bedford are traditionally one of the strongest teams in the league but have had a poor start to this campaign, winning just once.

"I know they're targeting us, it's a big game and we need to win it," Shanahan continued.

"Bedford are a good Championship side, there's a reason why they've been finalists and semi-finalists for a number of years.

"They're going through a bad spell but I don't think that's going to last - hopefully it'll last until after Friday and we can get the victory."

Albion make three changes to the starting line-up from the team that lost at Nottingham.

Prop Dave Morton comes back into the side to replace Ben Rogers and Ian Ashcroft-Leigh returns to the second row.

Jack Arnott, fresh from LV= Cup action with his parent club Exeter, takes over from Lewis Warner on the wing.
