Jersey gave their Championship survival chances a huge boost with victory over Plymouth Albion.

The visitors took a 16-3 half-time lead with a converted James Voss try and three penalties from Aaron Penberthy.

Declan Cusack, who landed a first-half penalty for the hosts, brought Plymouth back into it with a converted score and another three-pointer.

But Mark McCrea and Ben Maidment secured victory for Jersey, with Rob Langley and Gareth Evans replying.

Plymouth Albion: Mugford; Bowen, Howley-Berridge, Stevens, Warner; Cusack, Rowley; Rice, Evans, Fairbrother, Tovey, Oakley (capt), Langley, Grace, Stephen.

Replacements: McGregor, Morton, Harrison, Ascroft-Leigh, Nonu, Bolt, Elder.

Jersey: Burroughs; Dawson, Locke, McCrea, Foster; Penberthy, Dudley; McCarthy, Taione, Young, Markham, Voss, Rae (capt), Hodson, Makaafi.
