Harlequins and England full-back Mike Brown has been named Premiership player of the season.

Brown, 28, topped a shortlist of Vereniki Goneva (Leicester), Samu Manoa (Northampton), Chris Pennell (Worcester), Jacques Burger (Saracens) and Dan Braid (Sale).

The discovery of the season award for the best under-23 player was won by Saracens number eight Billy Vunipola.

Mark McCall made it a Saracens double by winning the director of rugby award.

It was the second year in a row McCall had picked up the prize after leading Saracens to the top of the Aviva Premiership table and into the final of the Heineken Cup for the first time.

Saracens face Jonny Wilkinson's Toulon in the final in Cardiff on 24 May.
