Euan Murray: Glasgow Warriors return for Scotland prop

Murray spent two years with Worcester Warriors

Experienced Scotland prop Euan Murray has rejoined Glasgow Warriors after leaving Worcester.

The 33-year-old, who featured for the Warriors between 2003 and 2007, has signed a one-year contract with the Pro12 side.

Murray said he is "passionate about playing again for Glasgow".

And Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "He is a proven scrummager at Test level and finished the season in great form."

He added: "It's great to welcome Euan back to Glasgow. He has played at the highest level over the past decade and brings with him considerable experience from his time in England and France.

"His tackling ability is also something that we are keen to see in a Warriors jersey.

"Euan has always been very proud of his Glasgow roots and I look forward to the contribution he can make to our pack and the positive influence he can have on some of our younger players."

After joining Northampton Saints in 2007, Murray moved on to Newcastle Falcons in 20010 and then featured briefly for Sporting Union Agen Lot-et-Garonne before joining Worcester.

Capped 59 times for Scotland, Murray toured South Africa with the British and Irish Lions in 2009 but did not feature in the Test series.

"I'm grateful to Glasgow for the opportunity to continue my career with a club that has always meant a lot to me," he said.

"You only need to look at some of the talent that is at the club to understand that a lot of hard work will be necessary to take the field at Scotstoun."
