Ospreys and Wales prop Ryan Bevington is unlikely to play until November at the earliest after having groin surgery.
The 25-year-old, 13-times capped loose-head has not played since February.
Ospreys medical boss Chris Towers said experts advised surgery, adding: "An optimistic scenario would see him returning to training at the end of November."
Bevington's first cap came against Barbarians in June, 2011.
Osprey's next league match is at home to Edinburgh on Sunday.
