England fly-half Owen Farrell is expected to be out of action "for the next few weeks" with a leg injury, according to his club Saracens.

Farrell, 23, suffered "a slight quad strain" in Saracens' 36-32 away victory over London Irish and will miss Saturday's match against Sale Sharks.

England's next Test is on 8 November, when they take on New Zealand.

Farrell's availability for the four November Tests is not believed to be in doubt at this stage.

The fly-half, who made his international debut in 2012, has played 25 times for England, scoring 271 points.

Following the meeting with the All Blacks, England take on South Africa, Samoa and Australia on consecutive weekends at Twickenham this autumn.
