Mark Bennett picked up the hamstring injury in the Test defeat at the hands of New Zealand on Saturday

Glasgow Warriors have revealed Scotland star Mark Bennett will be out for around 12 weeks with a hamstring injury.

The centre picked up the knock as the Scots went down 24-16 to New Zealand at Murrayfield on Saturday.

It had been confirmed that Bennett will miss this weekend's third autumn Test against Tonga at Rugby Park.

And although he does not need surgery, the 21-year-old will not return until the new year.

Earlier on Tuesday, Glasgow signed 26-year-old back Fraser Lyle on a deal until the end of the season.
