Glasgow Warriors aim to be Europe's best, says Fraser Brown

Fraser Brown thinks Glasgow have a "massive opportunity" to prove their worth against Toulouse

Glasgow Warriors believe they can be one of the best teams in Europe but now need to prove it, according to hooker Fraser Brown.

The Scots lead European Rugby Champions Cup Pool 4 ahead of their double header against Toulouse.

"We feel we can be one of the best teams in Europe," said Brown.

"We want to become the best team in Europe and to be up there on the European stage. You have to do well in European competition to do that."

Brown recognises that four-time European champions Toulouse, who lie second a point behind Glasgow, will provide a stiff test of Warriors' potential.

"There is a reason why they think themselves one of the best teams in the world, but every team can have an off day," he told BBC Scotland.

"They lost last weekend, so they are not unbeatable. No team's is unbeatable."

Glasgow have yet to qualify from the group stage of Europe's top club competition but have made that a target this season.

"First and foremost we want to qualify from the group - we've never done that before," said Brown, whose side are away from home on Sunday.

"It's good to see yourselves on top, but you can't forget it is only two games in. There's another four games to go.

"At the end of this two weeks, we'll have a better idea of where we're sitting in the table.

"Our goal is obviously to still be sitting top, but it's a difficult place to go in France."

Warriors are full of confidence after a good start to the season took them to the top of the Pro12 and they presently lie third, a point behind leaders Munster, after defeating Newport Gwent Dragons.

"It is a step up from anything you play in the league," added Brown, whose side have already defeated Bath and Montpellier.

"But we go out every weekend believing we can beat everyone we play.

"The next two weeks is a massive opportunity for us to show what we can do in Europe."
