Newport Gwent Dragons back Tyler Morgan, 19, became the first uncapped player to sign a Welsh rugby dual contract

Dual-contracted Dragons centre Tyler Morgan has been named in Wales' Under-20 squad for the Six Nations.

The squad will be led by Ospreys lock Rory Thornton.

Twice-capped Neath and Ospreys wing Dafydd Howells returns to Under-20 duty.

Forwards Luke Garrett, Joe Davies, Tom Williams, Joshua Adams and Ollie Griffiths and centre Garyn Smith remain part of the junior set-up along with Morgan, Thornton and Howells.

Morgan signed a national dual contract involving the Welsh Rugby Union in December.

RGC 1404 centre Danny Cross, Newport Gwent Dragons scrum-half Owen Davies, Bristol fly-half Callum Sheedy and Gloucester back-row Rory Bartle come into the age-group tier.

The Welsh juniors begin their tournament against England at Eirias Park, on Saturday, 7 February.

Wales' national academy coaching manager Allan Lewis said: "Rory Thornton was one of our standout players at the Junior World Championship last season and his developing maturity and leadership on and off the field means that his selection as captain was a relatively easy one to make.

"England will be a huge challenge, as double world champions, but one that we will relish and embrace."
