Stuart Davies named Newport Gwent Dragons chief executive

Former Wales number eight Stuart Davies has been appointed chief executive of Newport Gwent Dragons.
The 49-year-old former back-row, capped 17 times by Wales, succeeds Gareth Davies, who left his post with Dragons to become the new chairman of the Welsh Rugby Union in October 2014.
Stuart Davies will take over with immediate effect.
"It's going to feel very special to be part of a team again," he said.
"I am honoured to be taking on such a privileged and important role, and look forward to helping both the region and the club achieve their aspirations both on and off the field."
Davies captained Swansea to the Welsh Championship in 1993 and the Welsh Cup in 1995, while he also led the All Whites to their famous win against Australia, external in 1992.

Dragons are currently in 10th place in the Pro12 and are through to the quarter-finals of the European Challenge Cup, where they will face Cardiff Blues at Rodney Parade on the first weekend of April.
