Six Nations: England can cope with injuries, says Alun Wyn Jones

Wales second row Alun Wyn Jones says England will provide a tough test in Friday's Six Nations opener in Cardiff despite their injury crisis.

Dave Attwood and George Kruis start at lock for England, with the likes of Joe Launchbury and Courtney Lawes out.

Jones expects England to pose a threat at the Millennium Stadium.

"England have got a lot of strength in depth, although they've had a lot of disruption with the injuries they've had," he said.

"You can pick the stats apart on that but all I do know is the two guys England have picked (at lock) are in pretty good form at club level and they'll have a point to prove.

"We're very wary of that... that's what gives you the nod for selection."

Jones has been selected in a full-strength Welsh side who will be aiming to replicate their crushing 30-3 win over England in 2013 which sealed the Six Nations title for Warren Gatland's men.

England avenged that loss with a 29-18 victory at Twickenham a year later, and former players such as Will Carling have said Stuart Lancaster's side will pose a difficult challenge for Wales.

Injuries have forced Lancaster to make six changes to his team to face Wales on Friday, and Jones expects the players coming in to make an impression.

"We were probably on the back foot trying to guess what players they were going to pick in certain positions, but we can get on with it now," he added.

"We played Saracens in pre-season and he (Kruis) was pretty impressive, and Attwood has been in good form for Bath."
