Wales women were condemned to a third successive Six Nations defeat by Italy women in Padua.
The visitors' try came from back-rower Sioned Harries after the hosts took the lead through Flavia Severin, converted by Veronica Schiavon.
A Schiavon penalty put the hosts 10-5 ahead at the break.
Tries followed from Sara Barattin with Schiavon adding the conversion, and replacement Paola Zangirolami as the hosts ensured victory.
Wales women's campaign began with a 13-0 win over England, followed by a 39-3 victory over Scotland.
Defeats by France and Ireland followed for Wales, while Italy had signalled their improvement with a shock win over France in the penultimate round.
Wales finish with four points from their five matches.
France are in pole position to claim the title after edging out England 21-15, but Ireland can still win the championship if they overcome Scotland by at least a 26-point margin on Sunday.
