Pat Howard: Northampton Saints sign Western Province centre

Pat Howard featured for Munster against Sale Sharks in the European Champions Cup this season

Northampton Saints have signed South African centre Pat Howard from Western Province for next season.

The 23-year-old spent three months with Munster earlier this campaign, appearing in both the Pro 12 and European Champions Cup.

He won the Junior World Championship with South Africa in 2012.

"I really enjoyed my time in Europe earlier this season and was delighted when Saints showed interest in me," said Howard.

"I have had a great time coming through the ranks at Western Province, but feel that now is the right time to experience something new overseas."
